August
The day that us kids had heard of for years... a yard sale with things from Grandma's basement. She had talked of having one in the summer for as long as I can remember. We were so thankful to empty the whole basement with the help of wonderful friends!

This picture sums up the experience... Friends helping move things, Mom's face showing how she feels about yard sales, stuff laid out, and people to buy things... it does fail to show some of the more unforgettable parts of the day... like when a lady peed in the lawn... out in the open! Now you can sympathize with Mom's face.

We'd try and condense as much trash as possible in one box to make less trips down the three flights of stairs... the bottoms weren't all as strong as we thought.

We found Mom's grandparents grave

A visit to New Hampshire with Clara..

and Kathy.

One of the pairs of pants on these girls used to be Mom's... I'll let you guess which it was.

Helping add the spoiler

Amanda being a darling and giving me a pedicure.
Friends since highschool

Here we are with our wonderful weekend crew finished at last! They helped us carry box after box outside from the basement, and down the three flights from the attic.

Believe it or not this is the second dumpster

It may not sound like a lot but here are some before and after pictures to get an idea of what we were working with in the attic.
The top picture is after a good part of the sorting was already done.

A farewell for now to our dear New England friends... I love these girls!

On the way home we visited Mom's first cousin David in Philadelphia... their definitely related :-)

Totally Mom!

"Photo bombed" by a random stranger giving a thumbs up

David works at the art museum and gave us the "quick" tour which took a few hours... this place is amazing! If you ever visit Philadelphia you should come here... and every Wednesday after 5pm you can pay what you wish for admission!

Anyone looking for a knight in shining armor? There were plenty here

Looks like someone was having trouble with people taking their parking space!

We walked over 9 miles through these super quaint streets

The Liberty Bell

Back at the boys we look through treasures from Grandma's attic

Helping a family from church... nothing like cutting through the side of their house

Digging with style

And progress! The real reason for cutting through the siding.
A job well done!
